Local News: Car show to coincide with annual Charlie Johnston ride (6/5/23)

FILLMOE — The Fillmore fire department is holding its 10th annual Charlie Johnston Memoral Ride this Saturday, June 10.

Motorcyclists and spectators alike are invited to donate blood through the Red Cross’ Bloodmobile truck from 7-11 a.m. and enjoy breakfast starting at 8 a.m.

Donations collected during the day will go to Ethan’s Legacy Project — a nonprofit that strives to uplift those with addiction and mental health needs in Putnam County— and the Fillmore Fire Department. Information can be found at the Charlie Johnston Memorial Ride Facebook page.

Additionally, the Fillmore fire department’s “Fire and Smoke” car show will take place on June 10, with pre-registration available for $20 via the announcement flyer, and day-of registration from 9 a.m.-noon for $25 at the fire department.

All profits will go to what the fire department identifies as “needed upgrades,” and questions can be directed to Charles Martin at [email protected].

Trophies will be awarded for many categories, including best motorcycle, best tractor, best car and people’s choice.
